The Exciting Second Trimester

Congratulations! You made it past the first trimester! The second trimester is usually the most enjoyable phase of the pregnancy. Best second trimester must-haves for pregnancy are the more enjoyable items to get as well.

If you’re lucky you will be done with all the morning sickness by this time. I remember feeling better myself and really enjoy going out to eat on my own and shopping for baby stuff or pregnancy related for myself. I’ve always wanted a girl so I was especially excited to shop for girly things. I love all shades of pink and purple, so I couldn’t wait to for my daughter to wear it. Some of the second trimester must-haves for pregnancy will be listed below. They will be your lifesavers as well as it was with mine.

Remember to cherish all the moments you have now with your baby inside of you. This is the most “comfy” trimester of pregnancy and it should be the most relaxing of them all. Do most of your planning and shopping during this trimester when you still have the energy and stamina. I walked a lot during my second trimester especially since I loved to shop/browse at all the different stores that sold baby things.

Second Trimester Must-Haves for Pregnancy

  • Body/Pregnancy Pillow- A major must-have for pregnancy especially starting in the second trimester. Makes sleeping on your side much more comfortable and helps relieve back pain. The Leacho Snoogle Original Maternity/Pregnancy Total Body Pillow has one of the best reviews on Amazon. I personally used a regular body pillow for both my pregnancy, it’s what I use to sleep with without being pregnant as well. I prefer sleeping on both my side and back with the pillow between my legs.
  • Belly band- The Ingrid & Isabel Bella Band are the ones I used while at work with my work pants so I didn’t have to button/zip up my pants.
  • Maternity leggings– I would wear these everyday in the fall/winter pregnancy months
  • Loose flowing dress- Must have for the summer pregnancy months when leggings are too hot to wear.
  • Maternity shirts- I really enjoyed shopping for cute maternity shirts while pregnant. I love the cute sayings they have on the shirts especially the ones that go with certain holidays.
  • Maternity underwear- My belly was huge in the third trimester and using maternity underwear made a huge difference in my comfort level as well. The underwear would sit under my belly in the front and still cover my butt fully. I bought the Intimate Portal Women Under the Bump Maternity Panties which also came in cute color and designs. They are also wearable postpartum especially if you had a c-section as I did, it sits under your incision.
  • Panty liners- Always Discreet for bladder leaks was what I used. I couldn’t believe that I actually peed myself on occasion without no way of stopping it.
  • Tums- These help with heartburn during pregnancy. I didn’t have any with my first pregnancy but I did with my second one.
